Nozick According to Nozick there are three sets of rules of justice, defining: 1. how things not previously possessed by anyone may be acquired; 2. how possession may be transferred from one person to another; and 3. what must be done to rectify injustices arising from violations of (1) and (2). A distribution is just if it has arisen in accordance with these three sets of rules. See pp. 151-2. Nozick does not try to specify in detail the rules under the above three headings ('I shall not attempt that task here', p. 153). However, he does give some further information on rules of acquisition; see p. 174ff. He follows John Locke who as Nozick interprets him held that a person has a right (1) to own what he makes, and (2) to appropriate anything not already owned, provided he leaves 'enough and as good' for others - i.e. provided his appropriation leaves them no worse off. (Nozick calls this the 'Lockean proviso'.) It is not clear how Nozick would defend (1) against his own criticisms of Locke (p. 174-5). Fair trade is a movement that is aimed to support producers to make better trading conditions and financial support in developing countries. The fair Trade is needed because around the world there are countries whose workers are being pushed to their own limits just so the companies can get as much work out of them to make a dollar. The massive coffee industry proves to have its up and downs while trying to abide by the Fair Trade policies. Many people do not know what exactly fair trade is and it is important that the world starts to get a grasp on it. Fair trade is a trading partnership that is based on dialogue, transparency and respect which seeks fairness in the international trade. It works to wards making better working conditions, better source of pay, and for securing the rights of people who are working under these companies. There are multiple campaigns that are being held to raise the awareness for changes in the rules and practice for conventional international trade. Looking past the whole trading sense of it, fair trade is really looking for the greater justice in the world and more of a practice in conventional trade. This movement can be recognized by the WFTO logo. To be certified as Fairtrade farmers bring upon a wide range of costs in achieving Fair Trade. A farmer can only recover costs on the small part of their production that they can sell as fair trade certified. For example, since there is not enough demand to take all certified coffee produced, some has to be sold as uncertified. Also coffee farmers have to meet standards on production. There are limits on the use of child labor, pesticides, herbicides and GMO crops. Farmers have to start hiring labor instead of just using their own families and not paying any money at all. Theme of friendship: Amir tells of the time when him and Hassan would get into trouble and Hassan would always take the blame. The friendship is based on Hassan’s loyalty to amir. Amirs first word was ‘baba’ whereas hassans was ‘amir’. Theme of fathers and sons: introduced to baba who is amirs father. He is a powerful man and we are shown early signs of amirs attempts to gain his fathers approval. Both boys have absent mothers which makes everyoes relationship stronger. Theme of religion and ethnicity: ali and Hassan are members of the hazara ethnic group which is seen to be inferior to the Pashtun group. Chapter 3 Chapter 3 is about amir learning that he is not good enough for is father. We see that amir looks up to baba at the beginning of the chapter when we understand how proud amir is because his father did a very selfless thing and built an orphanage with his own money. We see that amir could probably gain more comfort from Rahim Khan than he could from his own father. Yet again, we also see that Hassan cares more for amir as he stands up fr him, but we know at this point that amir wouldn’t do the same for him. Amir wants to live up to his fathers success, we see that amir becomes jealous of baba and hassans relationship as he fights for his attention over Hassan. This results to cruelty to Hassan. Chapter 4 We understand that ali was adopted and brought up b baba’s family. Even though Hassan is amirs friend, he was still treated as a servant. Hassan loves to hear amirs stories, he was the one who encouraged him to write short stories. Baba didn’t want to hear amirs stories whereas Rahim Khan praised them. Setting: rich description of Kabul; colours, noises of the city creates a wild setting for the events of amirs childhood but also provides a basis for comparison when we are presented with a much changed Kabul later in the novel. The setting can be used to portray mood, plot and character. Symbolism: the power of reading- amirs reading to Hassan seems like a friendly act as his mother was a teacher. Amir doesn’t teach Hassan, instead he teases him by teaching him the wrong meaning of words. The pomegranate tree: shows the sweetness of the bond between the two boys who share fruit before amir reads to Hassan. The cemetery and tree are symbols which can be seen throughout the novel. Are Childproof containers really childproof Not really or you could say that they are (semi) child proofing but I say no! To me if 5-10 children can et the so called childproof container top off te its not childproof. Their not really childproof if the child can bang it on a hard surface for a while and manage to get the top off. A child can really get the cap off a pill bottle by throwing it or banging it on a hard surface cause I've seen it before i started this research and with one of my test subjects.The containers aren't child proof they're just a little tougher for old people to get them open and child resistant. I chose to this project cause I wanted to know : 1. What were childproof containers invented to prevent? 2. How does childproof containers work? 3. Are childproof containers really childproof? 4. Can a young child learn to open a childproof container? I went into this project wanting to know the answers to these questions. So I did this by gathering four â€Å"childp roof† containers and cleaning them thoroughly and sanitizing them .I gathered a cough medicine botle, prescription pill bottle, a toilet bowl cleaner bottle, a over the counter pill bottle, a cleaning supplies spray bottle, disposable gloves, test subjects, stop watch, masking tape, a permenant marker, a lab notebook, and graphing paper. With all this I tested a good amount of toddlers around the age 5-6 to see if they could get the childproof tops off the containers. I gave each subject a minute to open each container and if they couldnt get it open I showed them how to open it without any verbal contact and giving them another minute and a second try to open it.After testing all of the subjects I saw that many struggled trying to open the toilet bowl cleaner bottle and the aspirin container. Children that age, know that a way to get the top off a container is to twist. Many of my subjects didn't get the top off the toilet bowl cleaner nor the aspirin pill bottle. These two c ontainers need a little more than just a twist. The toilet bowl cleaner needs weight pushed on the top and then a twist.On the aspirin the two triangles are needed to be lined up and the kids don't know why the triangles are there so I didn't expect any to get that top off but a few proved me wrong. So when I saw them open it I was stunned! Some just twisted the top until the triangles luckily lined up and the top was eligible of being open. But test subject 18 opened it with seriously with no problem! In my mind I'm like okay who taught you that or are you at home just randomly being allowed to play with pill bottles at home? I really wanted to ask the fella but I said nawl its none of my business.On the other hand some of the kids just used the twisting the top to get the tops off. The pharmacy pill bottle and the cleaning supplies spray bottle is what the kids didn't have a problem getting off. Parents nowadays tend to let their children play with these containers cause their sup posingly â€Å"child proof†. Parents fail to realize that only some child proof containers are really childproof while the others are selling a lie. Due to these tops posing as a childproof top over 1 million children are accidently poisoned every year.These containers are false and the company should run test to make sure for a fact that they are a childproof top. Parents think the safety cap is going to give 100 percent security. They don't know how easily little kids can get into things like. Every 7 minutes a child is rushed to the emergency room because they are unintentionally poisoned. These containers play not only a role in the company but also in the parent/gaurdian or whomever is around at the time cause if the child isn't being watched then there ain't no telling what that child will get into.According to Consumer Product Safety Commission only keep out about 80 percent of the children under the age 5. The government isn't being hard enough when it comes to issues like this. If the government was harder on things like this then companies would change the way the tops on these containers are made. Once the companies change the way the tops are made by making them tougher to open then you'll have a lesser percentage of kids accidentally getting poisoned.Everything starts with the government but the company should want to change it if they see that their tops aren't as childproof as they think they are. Companies must realize that these things are life threatening and isn't a joke. A recent study showed that children as young as 2 can get into these containers. So what that tell you. Parents also need to realize that these tops are not child proof only child resistant. After doing this project I realize that all these containers posing of what they aren't. Not child proof but child resistant.

I believe that another problem facing the uninformed part of ordinary American society, is the fact that our children do not know enough about this deadly disease. Over 25,000 AIDS virus cases were reported involving children last year (Internet). Children can aquire the AIDS virus in two different basic fashions. For one, they can attain the deadly virus through a blood transfusion. Second of all, they can aquire the disease through being born into it. The only thing e can do for the children who need to have a blood transfusion is continue our blood screening medical advances, and continue the support of the doctors that make these medical advances. For the children who are born with the disease, well, we cannot do anything for these children exept treat them for the AIDS virus. These children were effected with the virus because of the fact that there parents did not take the proper safe sex precautions. Us ordinary people need to promote the education of parents about safe sex, and promote the education about safer blood transfusions. We need to make extra emphasis on this education because our children our the future of American society. Homosexuals these days seem to laugh in the face of danger. They laugh at oppressors,haters, and the AIDS virus. They believe that America has made so many medical advances, that they no longer need to worry about attaining the virus. Both of these have similar functionalities, however switches are considered as more superior devices than bridges in terms of network performance. Specific performance of these devices will be analyzed in a comparative way by paying attention to the data transmission method, traffic management control, error recovery system and network performance. The Layer(S) Used in the OSI Model Figure 1: OSI Layers (Source: Bari et al., 2013, pp-915) Network Switches: Network switch always operates at the second layer of the OSI model and provide proper connectivity between the LAN clients. Data link layer allows the users access the network medium, as well as provides the means to check the errors of the system and other basic functionalities of the network (Chowdhury, 2013). This network layer consists of Ethernet, token ring switches, NIC (Network Interface Cards) and bridges which allows the network switch to access the system for sending and receiving messages. This MAC address of data link layer in OSI model helps to address, forward and filter traffic, so that network congestion can be reduced at larger extent. The Ethernets offers a physical address to that data of devices such as switch can be sent on the network (Huang Kemp, 2016). This layer with networking software management system has error detection capabilities. Bridges: This also operate in the data link layer of OSI model. This network bridge connects two parts in the same network and reads the destination address for each Ethernet packet and token frame with maximum efficiency and speed (Ortiz et al., 2013). With the implementation of CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check), data link layer performs the errors detection functions and control management system. Bridges with high data link control applications of this layer facilitates best communication over multiple links. Intelligence of Switches and Bridges In order to measure the intelligence of switches in OSI model, it can be stated that it can effectively built a network and links all the network devices to forward data and information. In layer 2 of OSI model, switches read the MAC address and build a table to forward the packets (Wang et al., 2013). The application of switch only receives messages from the connected devices and transmits those messages only to those particular devices for which the message was made. This facility makes the switch more intelligent than other components of the network. In the modern Ethernet LANs, switch plays a significant role. Switch has redundant power circuits that can operate in power fails situation also. On the other hand, bridges have high performance functionalities which are used to improve network performance by maintaining traffic and signals. Bridges can read the messages of the outermost section of network to check the path of going messages. This helps to reduce traffic flows in the network system as it does not sent all the packets through the network management system (Ramanathan et al., 2012). But efficiency of bridges is lesser than the switches as it can only read the messages of the outermost section of network hardware. Bridges also do not allow connection of several networks with various architectures. Data Transmission For increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of traffic management network performance, the switches plays a crucial role. Primarily, switches are used to break one single system into several subdivided systems and for that reason, the repeater limitations and the distance are resumed (Pagan Short, 2014). Then the same segmentation separates the traffic and which in turn lessens the collisions thereby optimizes the network congestion. On the other hand, bridges use two Ethernet networks so that data can be transferred from on network to another network. By the use of bridge system, networks are divided into several parts so that transmission of data can be handled precisely (Chowdhury, 2013). Bridges are used for segregating data by distinguishing them into two streams which can effectively decrease the traffic flow and increase the control over data transmission system. Traffic Management Switches with multiple ports used in the local networks to isolate the data flow for the improvements of performance (Mehta et al., 2012). Switches are more superior than bridges and with high sped functionalities help to minimize the traffic congestion problems. Bridge is the device that is used to connect and pass packets between several network segments. This can be used to analyze the incoming packets and forward each packet. By this bridge can improve the performance of network management system by minimizing the collision chances and reducing unnecessary traffic (Boutaba et al., 2013). This application of bridges divides the traffic into several segments and filters the traffic flows based on the MAC address. Network Performance By two basic operations switch improve the performance of the entire network. At first, it receives data frame from input media and sends this to output media. By the second operation, maintenance of switching applications can be done by switching tables and switch builds (Gebali, 2015). The Ethernet switch allows the users to communicate over the virtual circuits, so that efficiency of the network bandwidth can be increased. Bridges can join two networks of several media platforms and always try to keep te networks data free, so that congestion can be minimized and improvements of network can be increased. Error Recovery In the case of error recovery, the LAN switches can be used which comprises of two different architectures including store-and-forward and cut-through. The store-and-forward switch analyzes and acquires the overall packet before transferring it to the destination source (Bari et al., 2013). The cut-through switches, on the other hand, review the address of the destination before moving it to the target part. According to the error recovery in the network design, the bridges can be used to disallow packets from particular systems and it is used to lower the bandwidth utilization. The bridges are unable to maintain the integrity of data transmission when they receive errors. When there is an error in a single frame then that frame is not correctly transmitted (Ortiz et al., 2013). At that moment, the bridges don't allow the option of retransmission. When the bridges become congested, the frames are discarded for making the traffic smooth. Appearance of Switches and Bridges in a Network In a network design, a switch is a network device which chooses a circuit or path for transferring a data unit to the next destination.
